Daughter Meenakshi B.A., A National shooter married to an industrialist manufacturing food pulp and Kraft paper in a large scale. Her son P. Annamalai is a third Year Engineering Graduate, and a National Shooter. Her daughter P. Meenakshi is a student in 9th Standard and is a shooter.

Son R. Sivalingam, M.B.A., at Hariot and Watt University at Edinburgh. He is a renowned Chess player. His son Ramanathan is two and half years old.

SOCIAL SERVICES

The un-presidented Torrential rains in November and early in December 2015 flooded the entire city of Chennai and its suburbs rendering thousands of families without shelter and food. Relief measures were taken by various organizations and self-help groups.

  • As a first installment he gave away 2 Kg of rice to around 500 standard families to the tune of Rs. 45,000/-.

  • For the second time he gave away 1 bread and 4 Kg of rice to 1000 members at a total cost of Rs. 2,20,000/-.

  • Rotary Club of Madras North and Rotary Club of Madras West joined together to provide 60,000 food packets to be distributed to people affected by the floods. He has donated Rs. 3,00,000/- to these clubs to purchase the required provisions and vegetables.

  • In lieu of the forthcoming Kumbabishegam of Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore, he has renovated the West side Rajagopuram at an estimated cost of over Rs. 9 Lakhs.

  • Adopted his Native Village Pulankurichi of Sivagangai District, (This is the first time an individual is adopting a village in Tamil Nadu) in Tamil Nadu and pledged to spend Rs. 50 Lakhs per year for benefit of the community.

  • For the first year five temples of his village were renovated

  • For the second year 110 solar powered street lights were installed at a cost of about Rs. 30 Lakhs and was appreciated by everybody for giving uninterrupted light during night times when power fails or power cut is imposed

  • For the third year built Nallammai Ramanathan Kalyana Mandapam at a cost of around Rs. One Crore and given free of any charges to conduct marriages including vessels, furniture etc. Now it is being converted into a fully air conditioned Mandapam at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 Lakhs.

  • Successfully runs a hospital mainly for the downtrodden in Maraimalai Nagar, the suburb of Chennai through Rotary Club of Maraimalai Nagar

  • Donates liberally for temples, education, health and marriages. Has Built various schools, and hospitals

  • Donated Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to build and equip a classroom at Karpagavalli Bala Patasala, a 200 year old school at Mylapore through Lions Club of Teynampet

  • Built and donated a building for an Elementary School at Pulankurichi Village, Sivagangai District with 6 class rooms

  • Built and donated an old age Education Centre at Perambur at a cost of Rs. 1 Lakh

  • Donated Computers worth to Rs. 50,000/- to the above centre

  • Participated in the building of an Assembly Hall cum Laboratory for the Gangadeeswarar Koil Corporation Higher Secondary School by donating Rs.2.5 Lakhs in the Namakku Naame Scheme

  • Supports the down-trodden by issuing scholarships every year. Helps the down-trodden by supporting marriages

  • Erected many Borewells to Schools, Colleges and Temples

  • Running a subsidised Hygienic Canteen for the old and the villagers of Pulankurichi Village. They also enjoy free facilities as TV, News Papers etc.,

  • Founder Trustee and donor to Rotary Club of Madras Central, TTK, VHS Blood Bank, which is a monument today

  • During the year 1998-1999 conducted a Star Cricket Match at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Out of the funds raised from this about Rs.10 Lakhs was donated to Corporation of Madras and Rs.10 Lakhs to Rotary Foundation

  • During the year 1999-2000 Homage to Kargil Heroes was conducted in a very very big way involving 9000 Rotarians, Inner Wheel Members and Students

  • During the year 1999-2000 conducted one of the biggest Blood Donation Camps ever held at Madras and about 1700 units of blood were collected

  • Built a building for the Panchayat School at Neelankarai at a cost of about Rs.2 Lakhs in 1991

  • Built and donated an ICU for Margaret Sydney Hospital, a project of Rotary Club of Madras Central at a total cost of about Rs.6.5 Lakhs

  • Built and donated a Medical Centre for Rotary Club of Maraimalai Nagar at a cost of about Rs.10 Lakhs

  • Furnished two class rooms at Thorapakkam Panchayat School through Rotary Club of Perungudi at a cost of about Rs.40,000/-

  • Built a Meeting Hall and a Vocational Training Centre Hall known as Abirami Centre at Kuilthottam, Santhome.

  • Supporting the downtrodden by donating for marriages every year to the value of around Rs. 50,000/-

  • Supporting the downtrodden by scholarships for around Rs. 2 Lakhs every year

  • Donated a Public Address System to Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore

  • Chairman - Tiruvannamalai Esaniakulam Trust object to renovate the Esaniakulam in the girivalam of Tiruvannamalai

  • Chairman - Nallammai Ramanathan Hospital Trust at Maraimalai Nagar

  • Donated a Silver Kavacham at a cost of about Rs.1.75 Lakhs to the Nandhi at Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore

  • Renovated the Palanquin for the Kapaleeswarar Temple’s Arupathimoovar Festival 4 years back

  • Donated a CCTV Camera System to Kapaleeswarar Temple, Chennai

  • Was nominated as a Committee Member for the Kapaleeswarar Temple, Kumbabhishegam and donated Gold Plating of one of the Kalasams of the Rajagopuram at a cost of about Rs. 1,60,000/-

  • Renovated a 300 year old Temple at Perambur in Madras at a cost of Rs. 1 Lakh.

  • Was responsible for the Ashtabandana Applications for all the deities in Kapaleeswarar Temple during Kumbhabishegam

  • Being the President of his home town Pulankurichi Village, built a Sivan Temple and Vishnu Temple for which he donated around Rs.16 Lakhs. This Temple has the following deities, Vinayagar, Sahasralingam, Singaravelar, Thakshinamoorthy, Kasilingam, Durgai, Sakkarathalvar, Venkatachalapathy, Panchamuga Aanjaneyar, Karudalwar and Navagraham with Consorts and Vaganams. All the above deities are in independent Sunnadhies.

  • Also maintains the above Temple at a cost of Rs. 15,000/- per month

  • In association with Nagarathars conducted the Second Kumbabhishegam of Arulmigu Singaravelar Temple at a cost of few Lakhs of Rupees. His personal contribution has been Rs. 16 Lakhs for the above.

  • Joining hands with the Natives of the Village renovated and conducted the Kumbabhishegam function of Arulmigu Angalaparameshwari Amman Temple. He has contributed Rs. 8 Lakhs for the same.

  • Was Appointed as Deputy Director for the Procession Committee – for the World Tamil Conference held at Coimbatore in 2009, by Government of Tamil Nadu.

ABIRAMI RAMANATHAN’S CONTRIBUTION FOR MODERNIZING OF INDIAN CINEMA HALLS

First to introduce the following modern techniques in the four Cinema halls of Abirami Mega Mall in India paving the path for Indian Cinema Halls to rise to International standards

  • DTS (Digital Theatre Sound) System in India

  • Computer Ticketing in India

  • Dial-A-Ticket and tickets will be home delivered

  • E-ticketing where any movie goers can print his own ticket

  • Dolby Stereo System in a Tamil Language theatre

  • Digital projection in South India,

  • Downloading of movies via satellite to cinema halls.

  • Pick up and drop facility in limousine

  • Created Abirami Mega Mall - First Mall – Family Entertainment Center (FEC) of its kind in India with Egyptian theme to international standards consisting of 3 floors of Shopping, 18 Counter Food Court, Gaming Area, Entertainment, 4 Cinema Theatres which have created a world record with 222 films each having a run of 100 days, 35 films each a silver jubilee and won the best theatre award many times and for the first time in the world a Roof-Top Drive-in Restaurant yet to be opened.

  • Created the first 5 star theatre of India – Swarna Sakthi Abirami and Shree Annai Abirami – with chairs which recline 100% with a butler on wait. The lobby and the wash rooms are also air conditioned. For the first time photo cards and displays are through digital screens. The ambience is of a 2000 year palace of Egypt and China respectively.

  • Created the first 7 Star theatre of India – Abirami 7 Star with unique features like massage chairs, reclining seats and waiter on call facilities. The lobby waiting rooms and the washrooms are all fully air conditioned. The ambience is of the Spanish Opera House. The screen is 3-D capable.

  • Created a Snow Cave by name Abirami Mega Snow World with 50Ft. high firy ice slide, where 5 tonnes of pure crystallized snow manufactured per day out of mineral water at minus six degrees with 50 tonnes snow on the floor which is considered as the best entertainment in India.

  • 1st of its kind in the world – Multi colourful snow dancing floor - A safe dance floor for all ages. Dance to the music of the Arctic music group – Penguins, Polar bears, Dolphins.

  • Created Abirami Kids World with all games and entertainment for children at Abirami Mega Mall.

  • Introduced for the first time in Tamil Nadu Novel amusement area of “KISSING CARS” at Abirami Mega Mall

  • Introduced Teen’s world at Abirami Mega Mall which is now the center of attraction of teen agers of Chennai.

  • The latest is India’s First Futuristic Theatre – Robot Bala Abirami with unique spaceship theme.

  • Instituted for the first time in India Awards for Small Budget Tamil films.
